"Red Power"

The Texas Scorecard team (including the film writer and presenter Michael Quinn Sullivan) will join us at Film Alley in Weatherford as we watch their new documentary “Red Power: China’s Grip on the Future of Texas”.

According to their website, this new documentary offers a stark warning about the future of energy in Texas and describes how we are outsourcing our independence to our nation’s sworn enemies. It delves into the economic inefficiencies and national security threats posed by the increasing dependence on Chinese-manufactured renewable energy sources, such as wind turbines and solar panels.

Through interviews with experts and Texas lawmakers (including State Senator Bob Hall who has been sounding the alarm about the Texas grid for years), the documentary explores how Chinese investments in U.S. wind farms—particularly those near military installations—pose a direct threat to national security, including the potential for espionage and infrastructure sabotage.

However, we will not be left in despair. Mr Sullivan will be fielding questions after the film and give us ideas of what we can do to help remedy the problem.
